Weekly Report: Week of April 20
MATH - Math U See skip counting by 4s. Lucy also practiced her times 6s on the Math U See website drill page.
SPELLING - Spelling Wisdom dictation: "The lip of truth shall be established forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment." Proverbs 12:19
CURSIVE - A Reason for Handwriting. Lucy's done practicing letters in cursive now, and is writing words and sentences.
Grammar - Language Lessons for the Elementary Child alphabetizing; Abbreviations in Spectrum Language Arts workbook; Read and Understand Folktales "Momotaro, the Peach Boy."
Latin - finished Lesson 6 in Prima Latina; reviewed vocabulary from the previous 5 lessons.
Geography - Asia and Africa and the Middle East puzzles; Spectrum Geography workbook
Copywork - from A Virtuous Girl
Science - Read and Understand Science: My Senses; Lucy also spent a lot of time catching and studying frogs at grandma's house, and also running around in our yard and in the freshly plowed corn field next door.
Writing - Lucy's writing a play based on an Aesop fable.
History - Story of the World: Ancient Times chapter on Early Greeks; coloring in Life in Ancient Greece coloring book. Lucy also made a helmet, sword and shield out of cardboard with daddy.
Reading Aloud - some poems from Emily Dickinson; part of Life in Ancient Greece by Lynn Peppas; part of Ancient Greek Art by Susie Hodge, one story each from The Book of Virtues and The Story Book of Science.
Lucy read - a few stories from A Child's Treasury of Mythology; Arthur and the Sword by Robert Sabuda; Betsy and Mr. Kilpatrick by Carolyn Haywood; Snake Hair, the Story of Medusa by Stephanie Spinner; Hour of the Olympics by Mary Pope Osborne.
